Full Bloom | November 2025

a monthly climate change content party in your inbox πŸŽ‰ from Heartseed Creative /

Hi friends,

While the entire world (except the U.S., ugh) is in BelΓ©m at COP30 to strategize for intergovernmental climate change action, the busy day-to-day work has made it challenging to stay up to date and follow the headlines.

One recent headline that I did remember, however, is that the world has surpassed its first catastrophic climate tipping point. I mean, how do you not remember that one? It was like a mini climate-anxiety case study in my own life: my heart rate spiked, I looked at my daughter, got defeated about what's ahead, and internally felt like I needed to run. I'm human, after all. But I know how to root back into progress and hope – it's a practice, and it also comes from the fact that I'm aware of solutions that are happening. I couldn't help but wonder, then, what does this thought process look like for someone who isn't educated on climate solutions and initiatives to reduce fossil fuel emissions? (Plus, how do we hold this news alongside all the other awful things happening in the world?)

Science and psychology tell us that in response to headlines and moments like this, we need to show our audiences what is working for solutions. What is happening on the ground to move things in the right direction? Plus, we must connect it to issues (and regions!) they care about – which is why its so important to understand your target audience to be effective messengers.

A peek at this month's resources in the email below:

  • πŸ“š climate comms resource: the newly launched Climate Comms Alliance!

ROOTS OF CHANGE

Climate Comms Resource

Have you heard of the newly launched Climate Communications Alliance? I'm so psyched for what's to come with this new community and platform. So many communications professionals are already silo-ed within their orgs, and it's refreshing to not feel separate from so many other great communicators doing this work.

They have a climate communications framework in the platform, a bunch of free resources, an interactive forum...It's like a cool lil' place on the internet for all of us. The comms people at your org should check it out!

SOME SEEDS FOR YOUR EDITORIAL CALENDAR :)

Content Ideas Greenhouse

  • Have you done the "Don't zoom into" trend yet? (see one of our examples!) It's not too late! It takes like 5 minutes to edit the photo you'll use in Canva. Pick the photo you'll use and the end-message you want people to know once they get to the final zoom area – and have fun creating!
  • Don't forget, Giving Tuesday is on December 2. How can you cultivate a culture of gratitude while also requesting more support? Start with stories. Feature a donor, program participant, or testimonial story to show the impact first, no asks attached. (Remember to get consent from your featured person!)

Featured Climate Artist: Kare Frang

I came across Kare Frang's sculpture installation in Denmark, Portraits of Overwhelm, on Instagram, and it definitely did its job to make me stop the scroll. It's controversial (allowing communities who aren't on the frontlines of climate change to experience flooding in a harmless way, while others experience its deadly and longterm impacts daily), and yet its starting conversations. What do you think?

In his own words, the piece "is a work that welcomes its audience in a imitated flood which not only illustrates the physical consequences of the climate crisis, but also deals with its human and emotional impact and how we slip in and out of awareness of the disasters unfolding around us.”

HEARTSEED CASE STUDY

Tiny Tips for Behavior Change

When it comes to behavior change, its often the smallest limiting beliefs, alongside long-term habits, that get in the way.

Heartseed worked with Move Minneapolis to bring "tiny tips" for sustainable transportation to life on video. [Did you know that transportation is the #1 source of greenhouse gas emissions in the U.S.?]

With their footage and ideas, we created friendly reels that inspire viewers to live into their values β€” and condfidently try out that new climate-friendly mode of transportation they've been thinking about.
